| DRAM contract prices are expected to remain stable in the first half of March as major PC OEMs are increasing their purchases to refill stock, according to industry sources.
It was thought that the major PC OEMs would take quite some time to digest DRAM inventory which had built up during the third and fourth quarters of 2007, the sources said. But it has turned out that these OEMs have already cleared their DRAM inventory and have started restocking, the sources revealed.
Some DRAM makers have commented that they are not feeling much pressure to reduce pricing in their contract negotiations with PC OEM clients for the first half of March, the sources said.
Contract prices for the first half of March are likely to remain stable to the relief of DRAM makers, who were previously expecting a 5% decline, the sources said.
